Turbidity Meter INORGANICS
Ammonium Analysis by TD- Fluorometer
Accurate determination of ammonium in aquatic environments is a critical measurement when investigating Nitrogen cycling and nutrient dynamics. This course covers the basic principles of the Turner Design Fluorometer, major in- strument components, reagents, standards, and sample preparation, standards and sample incubation, and analysis. Following this course, the user is expect- ed to be able to independently and safely operate the instrument and perform sample analysis. PARTICIPANT PROFILE This course is intended for students and research professionals from KAUST, and their collaborators from academia and industry. PREREQUISITES • Active Badger account
Turbidity is the cloudiness of a fluid caused by suspended particles. The turbid- ity meter determines turbidity of aqueous samples by monitoring light scattered from the sample relatively to a calibration standard. The course introduces the basic principles and operation of the instrument. General guidance on calibra- tion, sample preparation, and data reading will be discussed. Following this course, the user is expected to be able to independently perform sample analy- sis.
