Finite Element Analysis (FEA) introduces the basic concepts and techniques of FEA Simulations. This course follows the typical stages of how to use the SolidWorks interface to create FEA Simulations for designing components and assemblies for experiments and machines. Topics covered include: loads & stresses, pressures, temperature effects, component interactions, meshing & meshing methods, and understanding & interpreting results. PARTICIPANT PROFILE This seminar is for students, researchers, scientists, and engineers who want to use the SolidWorks FEA module as a tool for designing components and assem- blies. Competency with the SolidWorks program is required. PREREQUISITES • Active Badger account

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) introduces the basic concepts and tech- niques of CFD Flow-Simulations. This course follows the typical stages of how to use the SolidWorks interface to create CFD Flow-Simulations for designing com- ponents and assemblies for experiments and machines. Topics covered include: loads, stresses & pressures; temperature effects; internal & external flows, gas & liquid mixtures, and meshing & meshing methods.
