Introduction to Specialized Electronics Workshop Equipment
This course gives an overview of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and all the processes involved in their production. Participants will learn PCB prototyping through live demos utilizing the Electronics Workshop equipment. Topics cov- ered include: typical PCB prototyping flow, PCB design software, Electronics Workshop PCB equipment, and the LPKF PCB prototyping process. PARTICIPANT PROFILE This training session is for students, researchers, scientists, and engineers who have little knowledge of PCB fabrication and intend to design and build prototype PCBs in the future. PREREQUISITES • Active Badger account
The majority of the equipment in the Electronics Workshop’s micro-operation room is available for independent use to trained and otherwise authorized indi- viduals. Basic training for the equipment listed below enables the user to reserve the equipment through Badger and later use it independently.
• 1-Cascade Probe station (Summit 12000AP) • 2-Network Analyzer (Agilent PNA N5225A) • 3-Wire Bonder (tpt HB16) • 4-Finetech Fine placer (femto) • 5-EZlaze3 Laser System
While users are encouraged to operate instruments and process their data inde- pendently, our staff are still available to provide technical support when needed.
