As part of KAUST’s focus on advanced education, the Core Laboratories & Research Infrastructure provide specialized training to our users. These hands-on sessions, lectures, and workshops qualify users to independently operate our instru- ments. This Catalog provides information about training sessions available through each Core Laboratory.
Our facilities are impressive, but it is the people who run those facilities that foster a truly collaborative environment of excellence and innovation.
THE CORE The Core Laboratories & Research Infrastructure are a prominent feature of the KAUST interdisciplinary research ecosystem, with over 224 staff scientists, engineers, techni- cal specialists, and administrative staff. The organization is composed of eleven laboratories organized around one cen- tral mission: to provide state-of-the-art facilities, training, and services to KAUST students, faculty, researchers, collabora- tors, and our industrial partners. Furthermore, the laboratories support the intention of KAUST to provide an enduring model of advanced education and scientific research. These laboratories are strategically located throughout the academic campus, enabling our users to transition between labs in a matter of minutes, going from a research vessel to a next-generation sequencing facility or from an electron mi- croscope to a Virtual Reality environment.
