I am A football player and cadet who has enjoyed many victories both on and off the athletic field. I have played on a state championship high school team and a nationally ranked Army team. We were first dur ing mid-year and finished the 1958 season in third place. These victorious years have meant a great deal in my life, but they do not even approach the greatest of all victories; that over this troubled life itself. I found this victory when I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour at the age of 11. Through the wonderful blessing of a Christian family that required me to attend Sunday school in Miami, I came to understand why I was unworthy and unable to receive eternal life on my own merits. I had sinned, and my penalty was death. The Bible says, “ All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). But Romans 5:8, 9 says, “ W hile we were y et sin ners, Christ died for us. Much more then, bdlng now justified by his blood, we shall be saved.” I realized that Christ had taken my sins upon Himself and that I could be saved simply by my faith in His perfect sacrifice on
