DeVaughn: After Oxford, I hope to attend law school in the United States. I’m excited about the opportunity to learn constitutional and criminal law. It is my belief that in order to transform a city, state, or country one must change the laws that govern it. Accordingly, law school gives me the chance to learn the tools necessary to reimagine our criminal justice system and all those systemic issues to which our criminal justice system is inextricably tied. The Journal: What advice do you have for members of Kappa’s Guide Right programs who will be reading this and would aspire to walk in a similar path as yours? DeVaughn: To be a Kappa man means to be perpetually committed to achieve-

ment. Achievement at its finest is the unending pursuit of achievement, no matter if one reaches the goal he aspires to. My advice to aspiring Kappa men is to strive to be the best in whatever you do. Relentlessly pursue your wildest dreams. And when you capture your wildest dream, aspire to a loftier goal. Pursue an even greater achievement. Never stop grinding. Never stop believ- ing in your ability to win. The only way one loses is if he decides not to try. Keep trying, keep striving, keep endeavoring— no matter what. My life is a testimony of and testament to all you can achieve if you pray hard, work hard, (shimmy occasionally), and believe in your ability to do the impossible. YO to the good Brothers of KA Ψ!
