CHARTER MEMBERS OF THE ABU DHABI (AD) ALUMNI CHAPTER
Jason J. Borens
Jason J. Borens (Beta Beta 1998) graduated from Texas College and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2001. Brother Borens became a certified educator and then attained his Master's in Education Administration from Prairie View A&M University in 2009. Furthering his passion for teaching, Brother Borens became an English Medium teacher in Abi Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in 2016. In this role, Brother Borens educates young Arabic boys in English, which connects with his calling for Early Child- hood education, particularly for second-language learners.
Marcus Chisolm
Marcus Chisolm (Epsilon Theta 2002) graduated from Howard University in 2004, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He then earned his M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Ten- nessee at Chattanooga in 2012. Brother Chisolm serves as Head of Component Engineering at the historic Barakah Nuclear Power Plant. Brother Chisolm has assisted the United Arab Emirates in becoming the first Arab nation to produce clean, peaceful nuclear energy. In 2018, Brother Chisolm was elected Presi- dent of the Abu Dhabi Group. During his tenure as President, he facilitated the alumni petition process re- sulting in the Grand Board’s approval of the Association in 2019. Brother Chisolm has lived in Abu Dhabi since 2016 with his wife and two children.
Terrance Cobb
Terrance Cobb (Zeta Delta 2000) earned his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the Uni- versity of North Carolina at Charlotte. He then pursued a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruc- tion. His career has taken him to serve in several countries, prior to settling in the United Arab Emirates for nine years. Brother Cobb has just relocated to Melbourne, Australia with his family.
Travis Cooper
Travis Cooper, (Kappa Lambda 2007) earned a B.A. in Mathematics from Clemson University. He then earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Clemson University Graduate School in 2013. Brother Cooper taught in the Richland County, South Carolina School District before accepting a position teaching Math- ematics in Abu Dhabi in 2015. While teaching in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Brother Cooper has been a member of the UAE’s Alef Education Platform. He serves as a model teacher at his school for the UAE’s STREAM initiative.
Demetrius L. Davis
Demetrius L. Davis (Carrolton-Douglasville (GA) AL 2010) is a third generation alumnus of Fort Valley State University having earned his degree in Middle Grades Education. Later, he went on to pursue an advanced degree in education by completing the Masters’ program at Brenau University. Brother Davis was also active with the Lawrenceville-Duluth (GA) Alumni Chapter prior to moving to the UAE in 2016. He spent three years serving as a science instructor for the Abu Dhabi Educational Council. Shortly after chartering the Abu Dhabi (AD) Alumni Chapter, Brother Davis accepted a position in Shang- hai, China and worked as a science instructor at Yew Wah International School. Currently, Brother Davis resides in Ansbach, Germany and continues to teach.
