Justin Smith

Justin Smith (Kappa Xi 2001) earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina State University. He then earned a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of North Caro- lina at Charlotte. While a graduate student, he served as the National Pan-Hellenic Council Advisor and provided leadership and mentorship to five NPHC organizations. Currently, He is employed as a Criminal Investigator with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service providing direct support to the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps to ensure their overall safety and security. Since 2018, he has lived in the United Arab Emirates with his wife and two daughters.

Steven J. Smith

Steven J. Smith (Tau 1989) earned his Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice and Political Science from West Virginia State University. In November 1989, he enlisted into the United States Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri as an Automated Logistics Specialist. His Active Duty and Reserve Service spans over 24 years, where he ascended to the rank of Sergeant Major. Various tours and assignments not only allowed him to travel the world, but also serve his country with multiple deployments to Saudi Arabia, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan and other areas of national conflict. During his last duty assignment he was instrumental in advising high ranking General Officers on all matters pertaining to enlisted human capital investment, career training programs, operational readiness, and deployments. Following a stellar military career from April 2010 to December 2018 he served as the Senior Logistics Advisor for the Joint Aviation

Command in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). There, he advised and assisted their Logistics Director in planning, coordina- tion, evaluation of logistics operations, as well as maintenance operations in support of the UAE Army Aviation Force. Given the nature of a high security clearance and invaluable Middle Eastern expertise he deployed with them to Afghanistan as a Senior Advisor and Ground Safety Manager to support coalition forces. Life Member Smith currently serves as an Aerospace Delivery Assurance Specialist for Supplier Management Solutions, Inc. However his most treasured and critical assignment is spending time with his wife Fathiya and three daughters: Shantrell, Alexis and Emaan. William J.T. Solomon (New York (NY) AL 2007) earned his Bachelors in English from Morehouse Col- lege in 2005 and his Masters in Publishing from Pace University in 2007. After being initiated into the New York Alumni Chapter, he served as a member of the Board of Directors, Assistant Keeper of Records, Reporter, Kappa League Director, Fundraising Chair, and Social Media and Communications Chair. Brother Solomon received the 2015 Northeastern Province Polemarch’s Achievement Award for his work with New York Alumni’s social media outreach at the 85 th Province Council Meeting. Brother Solomon's career in publishing began with American Media and Reed Business Information on Interior Design Maga- zine , and Men’s Fitness. He also worked in distribution for Conde Nast on GQ Magazine , Architectural Digest Magazine , and Men’s Vogue Magazine . In 2009, he began working in education, including teaching as a Middle School and High School English Teacher in both New York and Atlanta. Brother Solomon is currently teaching English and journalism to high school students in the United Arab Emirates. William J.T. Solomon

Daniel B. Sparks

Daniel B. Sparks, (Dulles-Leesburg (VA) AL 2013) is a native of Philadelphia and a retired United States Marine Corp Communications Officer. He was featured in the Fall 2016 issue of The Kappa Alpha Psi Journal for his outstanding service . Among his awards and honors are the: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Select Marine Corps Reserve Medal and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal. He is the proud father to Korben, Ashley, and Dylan. He is a published author and an avid military historian. Brother Sparks received his BA in History from Howard University and has lived and worked in Abu Dhabi since 2017.
