The Journal: So you were honored in a very unique fashion. What led to your Jersey being retired at St. Matthias Elementary School? Horton-Tucker: Just being one of the only players to go pretty far in basketball from that school so they blessed me with the opportunity of that honor, and I’m very appreciative of it.

Horton-Tucker: Growing up and being from Chicago you are always a Bulls fan, but you know you always have your favorite teams with your favorite players. The Lakers was one of my favorites, Miami Heat, but overall I’m just a fan of
basketball.
The Journal: You were extended an offer from Iowa State in 2016. What helped you decide to commit to the team versus your other prospects? Horton-Tucker: When it came to me picking the school, I just wanted to make sure it was the best fit for me and my family. I wanted to explore different things off the court, and try to be the best that I can be on the court.
