Rick A. Christie Becomes the First African American Executive Editor of The Palm Beach Post R ick A. Christie (Zeta Phi 1979) has been named Executive Editor of the Palm Beach Post . Brother Christie was most re-
cently the Editorial Page Editor for the Post. Brother Christie, who has enjoyed a nearly 40-year career in journalism, takes over the paper that was founded four years after Kappa Alpha Psi Frater- nity, Inc. “We’re thrilled to have someone of Rick’s journalistic caliber and deep knowledge of the community as the next editor of The Palm Beach Post ,” said Amalie Nash, senior vice president of the USA TODAY Network, which in- cludes the Post and more than 20 other publications in Florida. “It was imme- diately evident that Rick has a strong vision and believes in the importance of local news. We know The Post is in strong hands with Rick at the helm.” Brother Christie, replaced Nick Moschella. Moschella is retiring after 33 years at The Post, where he has been Executive Editor since 2017. “You’re not going to find too many journalists as well-rounded and accom- plished as Rick Christie,’’ Moschella said. “He’s been an informed, thought- ful and fair voice of The Post’s editorial board and he has a passion for commu- nity journalism. “Our newspaper and readers will benefit from Rick’s experience and leadership."
