Holloway appointed Willis at the SCP Council Closed Banquet and Willis served as Province Polemarch from 1978-1986. His years as Province Polemarch is the longest in the history of SCP to date. In December 1983, Willis served as the host Province Polemarch and member of the host alumni chapter for the 65 th Grand Chapter Meeting in Louisville, KY. This Conclave was one of the last of the Fraternity’s “Winter Conclaves.” During his years as prov- ince polemarch, the SCP chartered:

In 1993 the Fraternity recognized Willis’ contributions as the 54 th Elder Watson Diggs Award. Louis N. Willis’ accom- plishments in college and post-college life have most assuredly created a place of usefulness and honor in the world. He was a standard-bearer of a “Dyed in the Wool” Kappa, and full of that “Good Old Kappa Spirit.”
