I love you and I will miss you.” Brother Anderson was born September 24, 1965, in Saigon, Vietnam to Stanley and Nga Anderson. In March 1968, the Anderson family moved to Cleveland, OH. Anderson attended public schools in Warrensville Height, OH and gradu- ated in 1983 from Warrensville High School. While in high school, Anders- son was an honor student, a star running back on the football team, and ran track. After briefly considering West Point for college, Anderson attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, on an athletic scholarship. He earned varsity letters on the Commodore football teams from 1983-1986 as a defensive back, running back, and return special- ist. Anderson graduated with a B.A. degree in human resources specializing in law. After graduation, he had a brief career in professional football playing for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. In 1996, Anderson joined Fedex ® , where he held numerous leadership positions with transportation and logistics giant. He worked in various departments, including Talent Acquisition, Benefits, HR Information Systems, Compensa- tion, Diversity & Inclusion, and Corpo- rate Safety. Anderson stated, “I was a package handler – I drove tugs, loaded airplanes. I would never imagine 25 years later that I would be in the posi- tion I’m in today – to have the opportu- nity to work not only with folks in the U.S. but across the globe.” At the time of his passing, Anderson was Vice Presi- dent, FedEx Logistics - Global Support Services, where he had human resources responsibilities and leadership for numerous employees in Latin America, Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Canada. Anderson championed the FedEx Logistics Academy, which introduced high schools to transporta- tion, logistics, and supply chain industry. He also supported the company’s HBCU
(FL) Alumni Chapter and served as its Polemarch. He was a member of the Lake City (FL) – Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and served as vice president of the FAMU Alumni Association. He joined the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in 1949 where he served as chairman of board of trustees. His faithful membership and dedication continued until his health failed. In 2016, he relocated to Hampton, VA. Brother Richard H. Anders is survived by a family by sons, Kenneth Anders and Keith (Judy) Anders (Alpha Xi 1970); brother, James (Barbara) Anders; sisters-in-law, Barbara Anders, Barbara Jackson, Ethel Austin, Lake Wales, FL; adopted sister, Rebecca Wilson, Savan- nah, GA; goddaughter, Valeria Coles, Lake City, FL; daughter-in-law, Seabro- nette Anders, Jacksonville, FL; grand- children, Kenneth (Danielle) Anders II, Hakeem Anders, Derrick (Jamie) Anders, Travis (Tamara) Bowles, LaKei- sha (David) Swan, Keith Anders II, Deidra Vanover, and Terrance Thomas; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-great-grand- children, and a host of extended family members.
Richard H. Anders 1925–2020 Educator, Coach
Richard Harold Anders (Alpha Xi 1946) entered the Chapter Invisible on February 7, 2020 at the age of 94. Known as “Coach,” Brother Anders was born on July 29,
1925, in Arcadia, FL; the second son of the late James and Nettie (née Staley) Anders. The Anders family moved to Winter Haven, FL in the early 1930s and later relocated to Jacksonville, FL. Anders graduated in 1943 from Stanton Senior High School where, along with his studies, was active in athletics and vocal music. Upon graduating in 1943, he received two college scholarships; vocal music from Delaware State Uni- versity and athletic from Florida A & M College (now University). Anders also played a year of varsity bas- ketball and four years of varsity football in which he lettered, in addition to other activities. Anders graduated in 1947 and subsequently earned a mas- ter’s degree from Indiana University- Bloomington. He began his teaching and coaching career at Dunbar High School in Fort Myers, FL. During his tenure, he team won three championships. He subsequently moved to Richardson High School in Lake City, FL where his teams won several championships. Dur- ing his time at Richardson, he won sev- eral awards and numerous constructive citations. Later, as part of the school desegregation plan, Anders transferred to Columbia High School, as Intramural Director and the Physical Education Department Chairman. Anders was visible and active in local and state committees. A Life Mem- ber of Kappa Alpha Psi, Anders was a charter member of the Gainesville

Longtime Fedex executive Thanh Anderson (Mem- phis (TN) AL 1988) entered the Chapter Invisible on July 21, 2020, at the age of 54. A former high school schoolmate
reminisced on social media about Anderson, “Thanh was that brother who excelled in whatever he put his mind to whether it was academics, sports, or his career.” Comedian and actress Kym Whitley posted on social media after hearing of Anderson’s passing, “My heart goes out to Monique Anderson and his children. My friend was so full of life
