led the boys’ basketball program at George WashingtonHigh School for 19 years where he compiled 348 wins, 14 regular season district championships, eight district tourna- ment titles and three trips to the Virginia High School League semifinal round. During those years, he served as a teacher, mentor, coach and father figure to hundreds of boys and girls. He coached organized youth sports in the community and coached high school football and basketball. His great joy was coaching at theMichael Jordan, Scottie Pip- pen and Shaquille O'Neal basketball camps and numerous college basketball camps in the summer. He also served as an assistant principal at GeorgeWashingtonHigh School. He retired from coaching after the 1995-96 teamwent 28-0 and won the school’s first boys basketball championship since 1933. Johnson was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Blairs, VA. until his health declined. He was active in the Deacons, Trustee, Music, Mission's and BusMinistries, Bible Study and Sunday School. He was a boardmember of the SalvationArmy, mem- ber of the Danville Kiwanis Club,Advisory Board of the Boys andGirls Club, the DCC Foundation, Hughes Foundation, and other community organizations. Brother Harry Johnson is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Catherine Johnson and Jean Johnson Lynn. He is sur- vived by his wife of 56 years, Lois Gaynell Fitz Johnson; son, ChristopherAnthony Johnson; GabrielleAshiya Johnson; sister, Denise Lenhart Benoit; brother, Ricky Lenhart; aunt, Martha Green of Danville, Va.; an "adoptive son," Steve Stamps, and a host of close rela- tives, friends, students and former players.

Chapter Invisible on January 30, 2020 at the age of 70. Otis Lee Hightower Jr. was born on December 20, 1949 in Wilmington, DE to Otis Sr. and Nettie Hightower. He graduated from DeLa- Warr High School in New Castle, DE where he played basketball and baseball. He graduated from Delaware State Uni- versity and earned a masters degree from Antioch University. Hightower worked eight years as an IRS auditor in the Office of the Regional Inspector. He worked 25 years with the Defense Contract Audit Agency as supervisory auditor where he audited and approved millions of dollars in gov- ernment contracts. He also worked on a multi -million-dollar initiative funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies that opened new financial empowerment centers in five cities to provide free financial counseling to residents. Additionally, he served as an adjunct faculty member at both Burlington Community College and Community College of Philadelphia where he taught accounting, statistics, economics, personal and consumer finance. Hightower retired in 2010 with an impressive professional career, which included professional certifications and community service awards. A Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi®, Hightower was also a member of Mat- tie N. Dixon Community Cupboard, Inc. – Board Member; Campaign for Working Family, Inc. (CWFI), Philadel- phia – Chairman of the Board; Carats, Inc., and Ambler NAACP – Treasurer. He was also on the Whitpain Township Planning Commission. Hightower had an extensive masonic career which consisted of Most Wor- shipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of PA – Elected Right Worshipful Grand

was born on July 12, 1938, inDanville, VA, the son of the lateWestmoreland Johnson and Catherine Slade Johnson Lenhardt. He received his formal education in the Danville Public School system and earned a B.A. degree in physical education fromVirginia State College (nowUniversity) and a master's degree in school administration from the University of Virginia. He served his country, completing a tour of duty in the Panama Canal Zone and in Vietnamwhile serving in the United StatesArmy. Known as “Coach J”, Johnson taught for 32 years in the Danville (VA) Public school systembefore retiring in 1996. Johnson
