coupled with miraculous recoveries. Born on December 14, 1944, in Wim- pee, Horry County, SC, to the late Robert H. Livingston and Azie Lee (née Green) Livingston. A firm believer from an early age, Liv- ingston accepted Christ and became a member of the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Little River, SC, during his forma- tive years. After graduating from high school, he attended South Carolina State University, where he earned a B.S. degree in agriculture. He taught Voca- tional Agriculture at Mayo High School and Conway High School. He, and his family, were known for his remarkable work ethic and entrepre- neurial spirit. Together with his father and brother, they owned and operated Livingston's Seafood Restaurant at the iconic Atlantic Beach in the North Myrtle Beach area during the segregated south's height. He later earned an M.E. degree from the University of South Carolina. He moved to California to work as a Counselor and Technical Employment Recruiter with General Dynamics, Raytheon, and Litton. His expertise was highly sought after by organizations such as the San Diego Urban League to ensure employ- ers met the affirmative action guidelines to hold or obtain government contracts. This seeded his work as an entrepreneur in the human resources field, and met his soul-mate Crystal. He and his family relocated to Gwinnett County to work in the aerospace industry. He later launched R. L. Livingston Recruiting and Staffing Consultants, an executive search firm specializing in recruiting minority and female candi- dates. As a result of his achievements, the Small Business Guide of the Black Enterprise Magazine published a Q&A interview regarding his advice on "Alter- natives to a Pay Raise," and featured on the cover of the 10th-anniversary edition of the Atlanta Tribune.
He was a proud Life Member in the Fraternity, who generously and tirelessly gave of himself until his health would no longer allow it. He was initiated into the Conway (SC) Alumni Chapter in 1975, where he served as Keeper of Records for several years. He also was active with and served as Keeper of Records with the Stone Mountain (GA) Alumni Chapter, where he received the "Vernon A. Jones Brother of the Year Award." Liv- ingston was also instrumental in charter- ing the Lawrenceville-Duluth Alumni Chapter in March 2008 and served as the initial Lt. Strategus. Livingston was a faithful member of the Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Lilburn, GA, where he served on the Board of Trustees. He was active with the Marriage Ministry and was an ardent supporter of his silhouette's music ministry. He loved God, his family, his church, and his Fraternity. His gregari- ous zest for life allowed him to put a smile on each face he encountered. As noted in the many tributes offered by family, friends, and fraternity brothers, Livingston exuded confidence and never met a stranger. He spoke the truth and lived life to the fullest. Brother Robert L. Livington leaves be- hind to cherish his memories and await that "Great Day" his silhouette Crystal; two children, Danielle Denmark and Clifton (Keysha) Lee, six grandchildren (Winston, Maia, Malcolm, Nicholas, Keyton, and Samuel); two siblings, Har- old (Patricia) Livingston and Minister Beverly (Pastor Johnny) Summers); and a host of nephews, niece, sisters-in-love, aunts, uncles, cousins, adopted children and dear friends. His celebration of life was appropriately held on January 5, 2019, and his beloved silhouette of 38 years, Crystal (née Lewis) Livingston, sang a rousing rendition of "Near My God to Thee," as that was one of his favorite hymns.
