Each year, the Chamber welcomes 36 individuals into the LGR program. The application process for the Leadership Greater Rochester program is intended to gain a sense of what are the applicant’s contributions are to the community and workplace. “Throughout the application process we are trying to get a grasp of what that individual is involved with including current and past community engagement activities, as well as volunteering within the community,” Krull says. “We also ask the applicant to describe a community challenge or opportunity and a potential solution. This provides us with an idea of what they have in mind for a potential community impact project before they even come into the class.”
