Luke Rhodes - “Price’s Raid” (session 4) Price’s raid prolonged the American Civil War and the war in Missouri. It resulted in no tactical advantage or gain. The raid was ultimately a waste of what little man power and resources the Confederacy had. Tyesha Rhodes - “Fall Fell” (session 17) In my piece ‘Fall Fell’ the story follows a young girl who’s daily walking routine turns for the worse when she is kidnapped. It isn’t until she awakes in a bizarre, new place that she realizes she is being held captive, along with a woman named Marie. Or so she thought. In this story I explore genres of mystery fiction as the unnamed woman must learn to either survive or die trying to. Will the protagonist find a way out for herself and Marie? Or will this be the last home that she ever sees in her young adult life? Daniel Ripley - “This Har Ax” (session 19) This creative work functions as a negotiation scene between two goblins and a blacksmith. The goblins are dumb, stinky and greedy with a blacksmith who’s just trying to run a business. It works as a comedy with subtle commentary on mid-Missouri poverty and the complex public opinions surrounding the impoverished. This piece exhibits tweaker mannerisms and its terrorization of businesses through goblins. Dajah Robinson, Austin Kostelnik, Ana Arroyo, Morgan Aitken, and Eva Agcaoili - “A Creative Rendition of The Breakfast Club” (session 2) This project will address of variety of issues including climate change caused by animal overproduction , racial discrimination, medication prices in America, homelessness, and The Reality of the Economic American Dream. This presentation will include a brief synopsis of why this issue is important and the platform that is being used to present these issues is inspired by the breakfast club movie made in 1985. By using the breakfast club we are portraying the fact that though one issue may not be an individual focal point, they can empathize with other individuals and their issues that are important to them. The breakfast club is the a creative outlet to take some of the pressure off of these intense issues while also shedding light onto real world problems that affect society as a whole.
