William J. Gartland, CDSBEO director of education, created the Bravo Awards pro- gramto highlight the “unsung heroes” among
school student populations, whose commu- nity spirit and service according to Catholic teachings, whichhe and other district officials noted, may not always receive asmuch reco- gnition as it should. “What you are is hope for all of us,” Gartland said. “You represent what all students may aspire to be.” “You make a profound and positive dif- ference in all of our schools,” said Trustee Sue Wilson.
