The Head of Estates Development will possess a broad range of experience, knowledge and skills. Candidates are requested to give evidence against Part One of the requirements in their supporting statement. The attributes in Part Two and Part Three will be explored with those candidates invited to preliminary interview. Part One – Experience

Part Two – Knowledge n Demonstrable knowledge of good practice and guidance relating to effective Programme & Project management. n Understanding the need for Strategic Master-planning in the context of a city centre higher education environment. n Strong customer-service ethos and ability to embed a service culture throughout Estates Development

Part Three – Skills and Abilities

n Proven record of strong leadership and management of a significant Project Portfolio. n In depth understanding of the critical role of Governance in a large and complex organisation. n Demonstrable commitment to customer satisfaction and a proven record of developing customer focused staff. n Experience of undertaking major projects in Higher Education or a similar complex organisation.

Proven and demonstrable experience in: n Leading staff development; business planning and resource management; chairing skills; budget management and control; report writing; time and project management and quality enhancement. n Strong influencing, communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate a clear vision for a wide range of audiences in a variety of media. n Ability to negotiate effectively with external and internal stakeholders, suppliers and consultants. n Skills in change management in particular the human resource development aspects of enabling change. n Programme and Project leadership and management skills.
