A modern University
Our origins date from the early 19th Century. The past 10 years have seen the greatest transformation in our history towards our aim of becoming the University for World-Class Professionals. The opening in 2013 of the Stirling Prize- nominated Benzie Building (pictured below) for our Manchester School of Art, highlights our long-term commitment and history. Its superb collaborative working spaces and multiple galleries complement the original 1880 School of Art buildings. Together, they create a stunning learning and teaching environment for our students and staff.
