5. Guides by His Counsel. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory (Psa. 73:24). 6. Guides by His Hands. So He fed them according to the in tegrity of His heart, and guided then} by the skillfulness of His hands (Psa. 78:72). 7. Guides by His Voice. Thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left (Isa. 30: m m m . Beal, Tucson, Arizona. —o— The Glory of the Cross (G al . 6:14; P hil . 3:18). I. God Forbids Glory in Anything Else (Gal. 6:14). 1. Because the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world (Gal. 6 : ! 4 ). 2. Because through it “ye are dead” (Col. 3:3). ; : 3. Because through it “ye are hid” (Col. 3:3). We are just as truly hid in Christ as He was hid in thè womb of Mary. II. We Have no Right to Glory in Any thing but the Cross. 1. Because we are not our own, we are bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19, 20; 7:23).

• 2. To be a friend of the world is to be an enemy of God (Jas. 4:4). HL It is Impossible for the New Man to Glory in Anything Else. 1. Because of the new man, which after God is created in righteous ness and true holiness (Epfi. 4:24). 2. Have no fellowship with the un fruitful works of darkness (Eph. 5:11). (a) It is impossible to have fel lowship with them (2 Cor. 6 : 14). (b) Because that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit (John 3 : 6 ) . (c) Flesh and blood hath no part in the kingdom of heaven (1 Cor. 15:50). (d) Flesh and blood hath no part in our new birth (John 1 :13). IV. Through the Cross our Citizenship is in Heaven. 1. The only life we have is Christ Himself (Jn. 11:25; 14:6; Col. 3:4). 2. If we are planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrec tion (Rom. 6:5). 3. Being then risen with Christ, the only desire is for those things which are above (Col. 3:1). V. It is the Only Way to Enjoy Heavenly Citizenship Here. 1. The flesh being in the way (Gal. 5 :17), it must be crucified. 2. The old man being crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed (Rom. 6 : 6 ). We are to acknowledge ourselves dead indeed unto sin (Rom. 6:11). 3. To keep the body dead, our mem bers are to be mortified (Col. 3:5). 4. If we are Christ’s our members are crucified (Gal. 5:24). — -A. D. Ellington. * — — — — — — ¿ - V B I B L E B R I E F S * ------------------------------------- -4 God’s Work is perfect (Deut. 32:4). God’s Word is perfect (Psa. 19:7). God’s Way is perfect (Psa. 18:30). God’s Will is perfect (Rom. 12:2). The Bible is today printed in 572 lan guages. The Bible was the first book ever printed (between 1450 and 1455 A. D. at Mentz, Germany, by Gutenberg, the re puted inventor of printing.) No two chapters of thé Bible are ex actly alike, but there is little difference between Isa. 37 and 2 Kings 19. These are frequently spoken of as being iden tical. Portions of Ezra 2 and Neh. 7 are alike.
