They now own and operate the company and are committed to continuing the production of high quality Goodyear Welted shoes, from the cutting out of the leather to the final polishing, just as it was in 1886. Today the company exports the world over, with a diverse range of products ranging from the classic to the contemporary. charles tyrwhitt was founded in 1986 by nicholas charles tyrwhitt Wheeler whilst still a student at bristol university. by 2008 it had grown to a £50m shirt business. over the past six years sales have more than trebled to £172m in the year to July 2015. this growth has been very largely in online sales direct to consumers backed up by flagship retail stores in the uk and usa. The international sales of £88m today represent 51% of total sales. Our vision is "to bring Jermyn Street to the world" and to make Jermyn Street quality shirts available to every man. Our shirts are easily accessible as a result of our ecommerce expertise, our home delivery competence and our ability to offer exceptional value.
