“I found the ASTM CoE workshop to be excellent, although I would also use the word fantastic. The technical scope of the topics provided a broad overview of AM industry segments and applications while focusing on the AM
and the FAA). This was my first significant ASTM experience – I can honestly say that the event provided an outstanding ‘current state’ snapshot of the Additive technical world, from the really key organizations, like no other conference I have attended.” Martin White , Chief Engineer, GKN Aerospace, UK
standards-based gaps/challenges and a forward- looking view of this exciting technology. The choice of knowledgeable/dynamic speakers was excellent and the hosting organizations ASTM/UTEP did an excellent job providing the meeting facilities, technical tours, receptions, food and beverage service and the overall structure and management of the day’s activities.” John O. Milewski , APEX3D LLC, Santa Fe, NM, USA

Our Upcoming Virtual Events
4th Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence Snapshot Workshop In conjunction with ASTM F42 and ISO TC 261 Theme: AM Industrialization and Automation The 4th edition of this one-day workshop will offer the key industry players an opportunity to get a comprehensive understanding of the latest advancements in AM Industrialization and Automation. The workshop covers the key topics that drive AM industrialization and the current practices adopted by major organizations implementing AM: Advanced materials, Multi- laser processing, In-situ process monitoring & control, Process simulation, AM Automation, and Industry 4.0 (AM Data Management, Machine learning). The workshop also addresses gaps in AM standardization and certification in driving AM industrialization, and the research initiatives from AM CoE partners to keep abreast with the technology advancements. Many technological barriers remain ahead of AM Industrialization. Therefore, knowledge in AM industrialization strategies and best practices will significantly help to produce new and better products with reduced overall cost. Expected virtual attendance of over 150 from over 15 countries.
This annual flagship conference is ASTM International’s fifth event related to
standardization, qualification and certification designed for the AM community. In addition to the emphasis on industry specific requirements addressing the entire AM process chain, six symposia (Aviation and Spaceflight, Medical, Transportation and Heavy Machinery, Maritime and Oil & Gas, Electronics, and Construction) representing the new F42.07 subcommittee on Applications are organized this year. Based on overwhelming success of previous versions of these events, ASTM ICAM2020 offers an unprecedented opportunity for industry, academia, and government agency professionals in the AM community to participate and help address the need for industry standards, design principals, as well as qualification and certification challenges. Materials of interest include metals, polymers, composites, and ceramics. ICAM 2020 includes over 325 presentations and covers 19 different symposia topics with expected virtual attendance of 500 frommore than 25 countries.
Both events will be available online and on-demand after they conclude.
