T raffic can be an unforeseen inconvenience for commuters, truck drivers and first responders alike. LinqThingz sought to mitigate the dangers and safety risks associated with blocked traffic by developing Predictive Mobility. Predictive Mobility utilizes technology to provide advanced notification that helps emergency response dispatchers and drivers avoid blocked railroad crossings, saving time and lives. Multiple sensor data is combined with artificial intelligence to accurately measure rail and highway traffic. Information is then delivered in a variety of formats — web/mobile applications, cloud API or direct integration into traffic hardware.
Based in Mequon, Wisconsin, LinqThingz serves Milwaukee County and the surrounding areas with a commitment to enhancing safety and well-being. Since its inception, LinqThingz has reduced citizen fuel costs by $120,000 per year per crossing, reduced response times by three minutes per call per crossing, and reduced carbon emissions by 350 million grams per year per crossing. Their Mequon Research Center location supports five local employees, and six additional employees work remotely. Their team is developing next-generation, machine-learning-based hardware and software for the transportation industry, and has decades of experience with companies like Harley Davidson, Eaton Corporation and General Electric.
Currently, the company uses their physical space for research and development as well as manufacturing, including final assembly and testing. The building also includes a command center that monitors U.S. operations 24/7, providing instant alerts during issues or outages. The goal is to triple capacity every year for the next three years, eventually establishing support centers in Texas and Florida. “Our primary need was a facility that could accommodate both manufacturing and research and development activities, along with the necessary environmental controls,” said Kurt Brandt, PhD, CEO, LinqThingz. “St. John Properties was able to meet these urgent requirements.”
“Mequon Research Center is well-built and meticulously maintained, which enhances both employee satisfaction and the impression made on our business partners.” –Kurt Brandt, PhD, CEO, LinqThingz
