FLAG Announces Ninth Annual Members Meeting FLAG (Flexo Label Advantage Group) has announced the location, speakers and plant tour for its 2019 Annual Meeting.The meeting, which now draws more than 100 members and vendors, will take place at the Woodcliff Resort and Spa outside Rochester,NewYork, on October 16-17, 2019. Highlights of the annual meeting include small peer breakouts, a tour of a member’s facility, exhib- its from FLAG vendors and keynote presentations on mis- sion critical topics for the independent converter. China’s Top Print Installs Omet XFlex X4 With digital, gravure, screen and offset printing ca- pabilities in-house, Top Print I-Labels Technology has now added narrow web flexo in the form of an Omet XFlex X4 line. Part of a group of companies with head- quarters in Singapore, the Chengdu facility, which opened in 2013, is complemented by plants in Suzhou and Chongqing, which employ 80 people. Currently enjoying a high level of demand for its thermal transfer labels, which it is in the process of switching from gravure to flexo,Top Print is also grow- ing its business in shrink sleeves for the liquor and
food market sectors, and recently won anAward in the Asia-Pacific Japan region for this work. The 8-color X4 comes equipped with cold foil, twin die stations, web turn bars, and delam/relam facility, which will be able to work to full capacity in the com- pany’s new 6,000-square-meter factory that is planned. Omet To Host Open House OMETAmericas Inc.is hosting two days of innovation on May 22 and 23 at its headquarters in Elk Grove Vil- lage, Illinois.The company will be making a major an- nouncement.Two live demos are planned for 11:30am and 2:30pm on both days of the open house. Midwest Sales Manager Chris Baldwin will be leading the pre- sentation prior to each demo. Experts from participat- ing partner companies will be present to answer all questions following the demo. Along with seeing the new technology, guests attending the event will also enjoy a catered lunch, snacks, networking, and games.
