As the new president of the CumberlandTownshipAgricultural Society, it is my pleasure to welcome you in celebrating Canada’s strong agricultural heritage as we celebrate the 150 th birthday of the founding of Canada and the 100 th anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge, where farmers, migrants, English, French, and Natives came together to take the impossible and become the wonderful Canada we all love. See how your food grows, learn about the crafts and skills of your rural Canadian neighbours and of course enjoy the midway and the entertainment in a family friendly environment. Enjoy and celebrate with our volunteers. Happy Birthday Canada ! 2017 PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE 2016 AMBASSADOR’S MESSAGE and took part in a scavenger hunt. I also attended seminars that promoted how to become more involved in our fairs, as well as how to use technology to improve advertisement. My time as ambassador has been incredible, I have learned so much about agriculture and our community over the past year. Time flew by and I cannot believe it is already coming to an end. I highly recommend the role of ambassador to any youth in the community. Not only does it help you get more involved, but it also improves communication skills along with other essential skills. Finally, I would like to thank the fair board and the community for supporting me throughout this incredible experience. I am eager to meet the candidates running for the ambassador competition this year and look forward to crowning the 2017 ambassador. Over the past year, I have made many unforgettable memories that I am genuinely thankful for. I was invited to a dinner at the Spencerville Fair, and also had the opportunity to watch their ambassador competition. In the fall, I attended Navan Fall Fest, which was very entertaining. I participated in a three legged race and got to spend some time getting to know some of the children of our community. In February, I took part in the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies’ Conference in Toronto. Throughout the conference, I met over 80 ambassadors from across Ontario,
