Albis Optoelectronics announces new 10G Avalanche Photodiode (APD) with high optical damage threshold

At the upcoming OFC exhibition in San Diego, Albis Optoelectronics will present its new, topside illuminated 10G APD chip APD10G1. Key strengths of this ultra-small APD are its large dynamic range and its high optical damage threshold of up to +5 dBm. On top of that, this novel APD chip features low noise multiplication and a high gain-bandwidth product enabling the design of high sensitivity 10G receivers. Record sensitivities of -34.5 dBm @ BER of 5E-5 have been demonstrated. Typical applications include 10G SONET/SDH telecom, free space links, LIDAR and 10G PON applications. Albis Optoelectronics is a leading designer, developer and

manufacturer of high-speed photodiodes. For more than 15 years, the Swiss company has offered the broadest portfolio of Telcordia qualified InP and GaAs photodiodes for datacom and telecom applications in the industry. All photodiode products are manufactured in-house in Albis’ dedicated clean-room facilities in Rüschlikon, Switzerland. Product highlights include: PIN photodiodes for 10G, 28G and 56G digital and analog receivers; high power photodiodes and packaged photodetectors; low bias APDs for 2.5G and 10G OLT/ ONUs; 28G APDs for 28 Gbaud PAM-4 and 100GBASE-ER4 applications; side-illuminated monitor diodes and monitor

short and long wavelength microwave photodetectors up to 40 GHz.

Axetris Micro-Lenses for Communication Devices

High speed data centers for next generation 5G networks require an ever-increasing number of transceivers. Heart of every transceiver is the transmitter optical subassembly (TOSA) in combination with the receiver optical subassembly (ROSA). Both are realizing the interface between electrical and optical signal transmission. Micro-Optics are used in a variety of telecom applications for fiber coupling and collimation, single- lens and lens-arrays in TOSAs & ROSAs, Coherent - ICRs, ACOs, Modulators, μITLAs, WSS, Silicon Photonics (SIP) and PICs. Due to the high refractive index, micro- lenses made of silicon are key for highly efficient coupling beyond 100G/400G/800G.

setups in line with individual customer requirements. Their scalable wafer-level processes ensure consistent and reliable output quality, which is a key success factor for performance critical applications. About Axetris Axetris is a leading manufacturer of micro-optics and diffractive optical elements.
