Then saith he unto me: ‘See thou do it not; for I am thy fel- lowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book : worship God’ ” (Rev. 22:8-9). BEFORE I SLEEP TONIGHT Before I sleep tonight, I must review the day— If I have erred in any wise, For God's forgiveness pray; I must be clean in His pure sight Before I sleep tonight. Before I sleep' tonight, I must lift up mine eyes— To Heaven in fervent gratitude (My Evening sacrifice), For His kind care since dawning light— Before I sleep tonight. Before I sleep tonight, I must not fail to pray For those I bear upon my heart, If near or far away— Their names, their needs, to God re cite, Before I sleep tonight. Verse 14 tells us we are the objects of angelic care. “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to min ister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” It is one of the clearly stated truths of the Old Testament that the people of God in ancient times were the subjects of angelic ministry. The founder of the Jewish nation experienced their protection and care (Gen. 28:12; 32:1); so did Daniel (6:22) and many others. It is affirmed that the angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them (Psalm 34:7); and of those that make the Most High their refuge and habita tion, it is stated that He gives His angels charge over them to keep them in all their ways (Psalm 91:10- 13). They were specially active during the earthly life of Christ: (1) they announced His coming to Mary (Luke 1 :26-38); (2) they heralded His birth to the shepherds (Luke 2:9-14); (3) they ministered to Him after the Temptation (Matt. 4:11); (4) they strengthened Him in the Garden (Luke 22:43; (5) they announced His resurrection from the dead (Matt. 28:1-7).
