Biola Broadcaster - 1964-11

Q . Pueblo, Colorado — “I ’m a church member and attend services. A t times God is very close to me when I say my prayers but at other times I feel THE STRANGE THINGS Some things my Father sends me, I cannot understand; Some things that He allows me, Seem strange, as from His hand. The frequent wounds and bruises, That bring me inward pain, Seem nought to me but losses, Without a trace of gain. No gain? Ah, I'd forgotten My Father's faithful word, That all things work for ^blessing. To them that love the Lord. So now I take the "strange "things," That He is pleased to send, As blessings, shaped and tempered. By His own loving hand. — L. W. Beckley like I ’m just saying words. Why should this be?” A. the Gospel is being preached? That would be the first point. Sometimes feelings enter into our prayer life. God is always faithful, however, even though we fluctuate in our love for Him. Sin may have crept in. David said, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” So if we are sincere and our hearts are right before the Lord, regardless of how we feel about it, we should pray and we can rest assured that the Lord will hear and answer our prayers ac cording to His own perfect will. Q . Kansas City, Missouri— “Is there any Scriptural foundation for h e l p i n g financially any relatives in need, or should we give all of our tithes to the church?”

A. A church preaching the Gospel needs financial support, as well as in every other way, from its faithful members. This should not run coun ter, nor does it obviate our obligation, to help relatives in need. As for verses, consider Galatians 6:10, James 2:15, and I John 3:17. It would have The Biola Fellowship Plan 1
