T he Addiction Treatment Trauma Support Track Program is tailored to address the inter- twined challenges of trauma and addiction. Trau- matic incidents such as near-death experiences, sexual assault, and the loss of a loved one can serve as common root causes of substance use dis- orders, highlighting the importance of integrating trauma-focused therapies and counseling into ad- diction treatment programs to facilitate compre- hensive healing and recovery. The Trauma Support Track at Desert Hope is de- signed to offer individuals a safe and supportive space to confront and process the underlying trauma contributing to their substance use issues. By acknowledging the interconnected nature of trauma and addiction, the program aims to em- power participants to navigate their past experi-
ences, heal from emotional wounds, and culti- vate strategies for coping with trauma triggers in a healthy and sustainable manner. Through a holistic approach that addresses both the psy- chological impact of trauma and the behavioral patterns associated with addiction, the Trauma Support Track equips individuals with the tools needed to embark on a journey towards lasting recovery.
