Belonging…the greatest gift. It is when we feel home again, evoking a remembrance of the home we all come from before we embarked on this adventure we call being human. Belonging is not about possession or conformity, and all about inclusion, devotion, expression, and unconditional love. It is the mirror of God unto itself. Its reflection says, “I have you, you matter to me, I’m not going anywhere, you are safe.” This mirror allows us to be seen, loved, and accepted for all that we are. Life is a balance of self connection and soul connections. We search for our purpose of being. We search for our person to love. We search for our tribe to co-create. Our wholeness lies in this holy trinity. Our holiness is found in these indestructible bonds of love that exist beyond infinity. Belonging is the connection we seek so fervently, while ironically, it is prolific and abundant. We wipe the sweat off our brows, going to great lengths to attain it, only to discover everything and everyone are and have always been connected. It is upon this realization that we can shift individually and collectively from illusionary and circular forms of control to authentic and vulnerable open-hearted living that honors both autonomous connection to self and shared connection with others. We cannot escape the very human and spiritual need to belong. We can embrace this need and cultivate a garden of life and love through acceptance, grace, compassion, and honesty. Through the wisdom and maturity gleaned via life’s challenges, we dance the path of love for oneself and love for one another. Now…we build a sanctuary that reminds us of the home we call heaven or Spirit. Home is a harmonious union of hearts we call infinity. This is the one holy dream where we all belong.
