How I’m Healing With Spirit I heard that women in abusive relationships leave an average of seven times before they leave for good or they die. Maybe that helped me stay gone once I left, but getting out was only the beginning What made the difference for me between hopelessness and happiness, despair and joy, and rejection and connection was building my relationship with my loved ones in spirit. I didn't realize how alone I felt, just counting on people for all my support.
My son had passed four years before my divorce papers were signed. He taught me to open the door to my Soul Team, and all my loved ones in spirit. I learned to recognize the presence, guidance, and love of spirit in my life. At first, my way of thinking didn’t allow hope, mysticism, or the tender messages my loved ones in spirit and my Team were sending me. A little at a time, I learned to be more sensitive to the prompting of spirit. I had to learn to pay attention. One day I walked by a tree I had passed a hundred times, and I finally saw that the foliage of the tree was shaped like a heart. That big hello from my David made me smile and brought me hope. I had to be open to notice the signs and symbols and thoughts. Today connection with spirit (and all the healing and joy that means) is my first priority. I make time for meditation, and for sitting and talking to my guides and loved ones. I work hard to be more available to the messages spirit always have for me, and I reap the rewards. What I focus on grows.
"Letters To David: Following My Son Into Spirit" offers a new lens through which to view life, death, and the everlasting connections that continue to enrich our lives.
