HEALTH & SAFETY UPDATE We believe that all forms of learning whether that be in the classroom or live

demonstrations on site are essential. There are elements of the work we undertake which are repetitive in nature and having workshops on site is an excellent way of reminding personnel of best practice. These are also great ways for us to get feedback on working practices, which leads to effective two-way communication.

Data Center Dublin (DUB 14/15) – Onsite MEWP Workshop

We have a dedicated team who deliver specific refresher training on the numerous tasks our operatives face on a daily basis such as MEWP & emergency access and rescue training. We aim to ensure that our most high risk activities are undertaken by highly skilled individuals to reduce risk as much as possible providing a safer environment for all those on site.

Safety Demonstrations – Emergency Access Training and Rescue

Errigal remain focused on our ambition to be Carbon Neutral by 2025. This year has seen a greater depth to our carbon reporting and the transparency of the data collected. Errigal move forward with the overall focus on sustainability, with the aid of digital technology & data capture. The focus for next year is to enhance the knowledge and understanding of our teams and our supply chain. OUR CARBON ROADMAP

ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY Errigal’s forest has grown significantly in the last 12 months with the planting of an additional 4,000 trees including Beech, Hazel, Oak, and Scotch Pine. The 60-acre Errigal grassland has flourished under sensitive management to encourage various ecosystems to thrive.

In addition, at Errigal’s Headquarters in County Monaghan, we have four beehives with over 150,000 bees providing a mutually beneficial relationship with the wildflowers in the grasslands and hedgerows. The rich production of raw honey is a source of great conversation in our local community and with the children at our local Primary School. We look forward to 2023 as we move forward in our carbon footprint reduction program and we look forward to sharing the results with you.

DERRY'S FOOTBALL SUCCESS 2022

What a year it has been for Derry GAA. While excitement gathered across County Derry this year, it was also gathering a new crew of supporters from across the world……in particular all those in the wider Errigal family. Tensions were high in the head office in the lead up to the Ulster semi final against Monaghan, jerseys started to appear and the craic was good. The Derry men rose to success securing the Ulster title for the first time in over 20 years. Errigal are very proud to be the main sponsor of this brilliant team and all the Co Derry GAA teams. We wish continued success to all involved in 2023. Maith sibh go léir!!!

NORTHERN IRELAND CHEST, HEART & STROKE

This year, one of the many charities that Errigal supported was NI Heart Chest & Stroke. Two teams competed in a five a side tournament run by 'Business Fives' which took place in Stormont Pavilion Estate, Belfast. Although the competition was high, Errigal’s teams showed great skill and performed admirably throughout, whilst raising funds for a great charity. To further contribute to NI Heart, Chest & Stroke, Errigal held a charity breakfast morning which involved all employees enjoying a delicious healthy cooked breakfast in aid of this fantastic charity. NI Heart, Chest & Stroke is a charity that is close to many hearts here at Errigal, and we felt it was a worthy charity that deserves awareness as well as funding.

ATAXIA CHARITY GALA 2022

On Saturday evening, 3rd September, we continued our fundraising campaign for the charity, Ataxia Foundation Ireland, (AFI). The Charity Gala held at our Headquarters in County Monaghan was attended by over 300 people; this included our Clients, Supply Chain, Local Companies, Representatives from our Communities and Founding Members of AFI. Expectations were far exceeded with an amazing amount of over €200,000 raised on the night.

'I am overwhelmed by the caring joyful atmosphere in the marquee tonight and the generosity shown to the Ataxia Charity. Firming our relationship in 2018 this charity is close to Errigal's heart and to see the wonderful selfless work they carry out for all the families that are affected by this condition is a gift to us all. Mark Cokes

The Ataxia Foundation is a charity set up by members living with the condition which offers help and support to those and their families who suffer from Ataxia which is a very rare inherited degenerative disease of the nervous system for which there is currently no cure. Our fundraising campaign started out by supporting the amazing Cokes Swim Challenge. In a huge effort to raise awareness Mark Cokes Colcough at 57 years of age set out on a challenge to become the oldest Irish man to swim the channel, 21 miles long which he completed in 15 hours and 11 minutes. A massive feat undertaken by this hero to raise awareness and much needed funds.

Well done to Mark for your inspiration to us all and your love shown to the Ataxia Foundation.

LEAN THE ERRIGAL WAY We drive operational excellence across our business functions by combining lean methodologies with business process management philosophies. 'The Errigal Way' emphasises our commitment to continuously developing innovative operating methods.

As members of Lean Construction Ireland, we contributed a case study included in the 1st publication, 'Annual Book Of Cases 2022' documenting the initiatives Errigal are implementing to drive productivity. These cases demonstrate the proactive, pioneering, and progressive nature of Irish construction sector organisations, both in terms of their adoption of Lean as well as in their alignment and integration of Lean with BIM, Digitalisation, Technology and Sustainability. This sharing of industry knowledge serves to strengthen the position of Irish companies on a global scale. We are recognised nationally and internationally as advocates for Lean Construction thinking and practices.

LEAN MADE SIMPLE A local company 'Seating Matters' based in Limavady Co Derry, hosted some of the Errigal team, keen to learn from industry trailblazers. Seating Matters stands as a prime example of how Lean manufacturing can be made simple. In order for Lean to take root in your organization, you need to create a culture of continuous improvement where everyone is committed to making small daily improvements. Ryan Tierney and his team generously shared their knowledge and we left with a renewed sense of purpose.

OFFSITE IN ANTRIM Errigal has harnessed the power of BIM using off-site manufacturing as part of our commitment to reduce our carbon footprint. High-quality BIM models enable us to generate accurate coordinated schedules and optimized assembly drawings.

Through this process, we are able to assist our off-site team in manufacturing baffle boxes, deflection heads, letterboxes for door heads, reducing the amount of waste and dust generated during on site construction and the amount of time required for installation.

POINT CLOUD & LASER SCANNING Errigal are actively using the Trimble X7 scanner on projects across Ireland and the UK. It has provided invaluable information and data for our design teams and has become a well-travelled piece of kit within the design team!

DESIGN SPOTLIGHT

TRAINING THE NEXT GENERATION OF DESIGNERS

What was your experience of the Errigal Undergrad programme? I started with Errigal in October 2018; I had originally approached Errigal to seek out placement for my Foundation Degree in Architectural Technology with Belfast Metropolitan College. Towards the end of my placement, I got offered a place on Errigal's undergraduate programme and worked as a member of the Design team. I recently qualified this year with a 2:1 from University of Ulster. I would recommend the Errigal undergraduate program to anyone starting out in the industry. The experience you gain while working part time along side doing a related course is invaluable.

Conan Webb Architectural Technologist

How has your transition been from Undergrad to full time designer? It has been a challenging but rewarding one. The scope of design I get to work on now and the responsibility placed on me is a lot more than when I was attending university. I am enjoying the challenge of stepping up and the exposure to new areas of design is exciting.

What do you feel the benefits are for designers getting out on site? There are many, it allows a better understanding of details, especially in your early career. It gives you a chance to see the construction of the project first hand rather than just in a 2D & 3D formats. One benefit I found most of all is it gives you a chance to interact with the team and talk through any issues or points they may have to help you.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time? What are your aspirations for your career? I would like to continue to lead the design on different projects to gain the experience. I would love to learn more about the passive house standard of building and become passive house certified. To be design lead on a Passive House or EnerPHit project would be an interesting challenge.

FEATURE PROJECT- BMS LEIDEN

Errigal Contracts are delighted to have been awarded the full architectural fit out of the Bristol Myers Squibb flagship CAR T cell therapy treatment facility in the Leiden Bio Science Park in the Netherlands. This facility will be fully equipped with the latest technology and production equipment to develop cell therapy for patients in Europe.

Project Key numbers • Contract Value €16.0m • 35 fit-out work packages • 7,500m2 of resin flooring • 1,560m2 of internal glazed screens

• 25,000m2 of wall finishes • 10,000m2 of floor finishes

What is CAR T-Cell Therapy? CAR T-cell therapy is short for 'Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell' therapy. A T-cell is an immune cell that can attack and eliminate malignant cancer cells. In the therapy, white blood cells are collected from a cancer patient and genetically modified in the production facility to recognise and bind to proteins from specific cancer cells. These cells are then administered to the patient in specialised centres. The genetic modification of the cells is instrumental in combating haematological cancers through the body's own T-cells. Expanding the capacity of production facilities is essential to make CAR T cell therapy available to more patients with aggressive blood cancers.
