Visions of the TOVP

T his book is a collection of the best images of the TOVP from 2018 to date by five talented photographers, including Thakur Saranga das, the official TOVP photographer. We hope these images will deeply inspire the viewers and awaken further appreciation of the historic importance of this monumental project, and its significance in the re-spiritualization of humanity for generations to come. The TOVP is not to be taken lightly as just another ISKCON project. It is Srila Prabhupada’s foremost desire, second to none but book distribution. He could envision its worldwide effect in the years to come, and made many statements to that effect, readable in our flipbook, Srila Prabhupada in Mayapur . Thus, it is ISKCON’s flagship project, and all temples will benefit from the TOVP. As the saying goes, it is like “the rising tide that lifts all the boats”. In 1971, as a young devotee in Calcutta, Giriraja Swami approached Srila Prabhupada, “I have been trying to understand what your desire is, and two things seem to please you the most: distributing your books and building the big temple in Mayapur.” Prabhupada’s face lit up, his eyes opened wide, and he smiled, saying: “Yes, you have understood…….If you all build this temple, Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur will personally come and take you all back to Godhead.”
