"If thou hadst known, even thou at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! But now they are hid from thine eyes” (Luke 19: 42). Thus we find when the Lord spoke these words telling Israel the gospel was hidden from them, God revealed the gospel to the Gentiles through Jewish The following are some experiences in our personal dealings with Jewish people: Entering a printing establishment we approached the proprietor who was Jewish, and spoke to him on the subject of God and the Old Testament. The noise of the printing presses made it almost impossible to be heard. Soon this dear Jewish man invited us to take a walk outside of the building, and when we came to the :omer we stopped in front of a luggage shop, continu- ng our conversation. This dear man told us that his wife believed in Christ for a number of years, causing lim to be bitter, and finally he confessed to us that he jut his wife in an insane institution. He admitted to us hat he knew this was wrong, and he saw a wonder- 'ul change for good in his wife. He received our testi- nony gladly and allowed us to pray for him, receiving >ur literature and a New Testament. A middle-aged Jewish man came to our office and, »ringing his hands to his head, sobbed, murmuring vords while he cried. We could not ascertain his trouble md told him to rest in the chair while we offered prayer o God to compose him. When the prayer was finished le sat silent a few moments and then told us he was at he point of suicide because he gambled away his life’s amlngs, selling his home—losing that in gambling— elling his car, and with the money derived from the car, [ambled, and lost this too. Weeks before, he had sent its wife and children back to relatives in the middle vest. We pointed out that sin made him do those acts nd that our blessed Lord Jesus shed His blood as an .tenement for everyone’s sin. After many Scriptures in he Old and New Testament were given, this dear Jewish ran and our missionary, both getting on their knees, rayed together that the God of Abraham, Isaac and acob would reveal His Son, the Messiah, to this man.

apostles as a channel. The above quotation would be enough to cause all Christians to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, but more than that, it is a direct command of God to — “Pray for thu peace of Jerusalem: They shall prosper that love Thee” (Psalm 122:6). Soon the glorious light of the Gospel shone in his heart, and he arose with a faint smile, telling us he knew God would help him. To date, he has already brought his wife and children back to Los Angeles, God providing a home for them, and our missionaries are in constant touch with them in Bible study and Christ ian fellowship. Many other experiences of actual conversion taking place in Jewish hearts could be recorded, if space permit ted. The ministry of the Jewish Department includes street-meeting work—teams divided up two by two__go ing into Jewish districts from home to home, hospital and business district visitation, a nation wide tract work by mail, and public mass meetings. Each Sunday a radio program is broadcast over KFOX, Los Angeles, at 2:00 p.m. Jewish people come to our office, Room 408 in the Bible Institute building, and after Old Testament and New Testament Scriptures are g iven, to which is added personal testimony and prayer, many Jewish people through these means have the .seed of the Gospel sown in their hearts, and on quite a number of occa sions have fully received our blessed Lord as Saviour.
