Returning to home ice at St-Isidore Arena, the Eagles bounced back with an impressive 5-2 win over the Cumberland Castors. In the first period, the Eagles opened the scoring early, with Maxime Patenaude (assisted by Maxime Laliberte and Sydney Benoit) finding the net at 18:50. The Castors responded with two quick goals, ending the period 2-1 in favor of Cumberland. The Eagles tied the game in the second period at 19:19 with a goal from Cedric Hughes (assisted by Gaudreau). A power-play goal from Gaudreau (assisted by Patenaude and Levac) at 14:25 put St-Isidore ahead 3-2 heading into the final frame. In the third period, the Eagles extended their lead with a goal from Sydney Benoit (assisted by Laliberte and Samuel Bisaillon) at 10:48, followed by an empty-net goal from Maxime Paquette (assisted by Justin Sabourin and Tyler Proulx) in the final minute, securing the 5-2 victory. With a weekend split, the Eagles continue their strong season as they prepare for their next matchup on Sunday, February 9, at St-Isidore Arena against the Gatineau Hull Volant.
The St-Isidore Eagles had an action- packed weekend, facing off against the North Dundas Rockets on Saturday before securing a home-ice win over the Cumberland Castors on Sunday. In a hard-fought battle at the Chesterville & District Arena, the Eagles took an early lead but ultimately fell 3-2 in overtime to the North Dundas Rockets. During the first period, the Eagles struck first with the only goal of the period, scored by Anthony Marcos (assisted by Justin Sabourin and Samuel Marleau) at 13:14. The Rockets answered back with a goal with five minutes left in the second period, tying the game. In the final period, the Eagles regained the lead at 19:19, thanks to Cedric Hughes (assisted by Alexi Gaudreau and Jacob Levac). However, North Dundas capitalized on a power play, scoring the tying goal. The Rockets sealed the win in overtime with the game-winning goal. Despite the loss, the Eagles quickly regrouped for their Sunday matchup.
