ALL THE MEN OFTHE BIBLE By Herbert Lockyer

Sex and the Bible By Jack Wyrtzen

With evangelistic punch and vigor, Jack Wyrtzen lifts the shade on sexual sin and moral indifference that is rising to alarming proportions among the youth of America. He includes letters from young people with bro ken hearts and a good supply of sta tistics to prove the extent of corrup tion that is weakening our next gen eration. There is some dogmatic sermoniz ing, outlining what to flee and what to follow. Wyrtzen’s line is sharply drawn. There’s no middle-of-the-road conduct tolerated. A good book for carnal Christians or unbelievers — young or old. 63 pages; paper; Zondervan Publ. House, Grand Rapids; $1.00. Much Prayer — Much Power By Peter Deyneka Peter Deyneka may be called the apostle of all-night prayer meetings. Through his success at them he has fired Youth for Christ conventions, knelt with men from Billy Graham to Russian clergymen in the Soviet Union and built his Slavic Gospel Association to a world-wide ministry with more than 100 missionaries serv ing in 22 countries and working in more than 10 languages. The author’s prayer life here re viewed gives abundant evidence ,of the title, written succinctly as Peter Deyneka would say it with his heavy Russian accent. 89 pages; paper; Zon dervan Publ. House, Grand Rapids; $1.50 — Rev i ewe d by No rman B. Rohrer. Volume 2 of Wuest’s Expanded. Translation of the Greek New Testa ment presents the central core of the New Testament in what he calls “ a commentary translation, the purpose of which is to clarify the text of the Authorized Version where its con densed phraseology needs the explan ation which an expanded translation is able to afford.” It is to be under stood that this is never to replace the Authorized or the basic more or less exact translations. The paraphrase, which is what the expanded transla tion really is, is nothing new, but it is the first step in the direction of a commentary. Further, the fact that Wuest is working with more accurate Greek texts offers added value which the translators of the King James Ver sion did not enjoy. Volume 1 of this series covered the gospels. 248 pages; Wm. B. Eerdmans Publ. Co., Grand Rapids; $3.50. Acts Through Ephesians: An Expanded Translation By Kenneth S. Wuest
