Mex, Switzerland based Bobst announced it will be show- casing its latest developments in sustainable packaging at Pack Expo 2023 in Las Vegas on September 11-13. Visitors to BOBST’s exhibit on Booth 9712 will be able to learn about the VISION CI Flexo press, a highly modu- lar tool for converters that offers leading performance for production lengths on a wide range of substrates, and the oneBARRIER PrimeCycle and FibreCycle recyclable mate- rials. The company will also showcase its end-to-end solu- tions for the folding carton (FC) market, including litho-lam- inators, alignment technology, folder-gluers and more. “Making packaging more sustainable is one of the most significant — and the most pressing — challenges facing the modern packaging industry. Our oneBARRIER solu- tions help converters meet their sustainability goals with- out compromising on barrier performance, enabling them to go further, faster on their journey towards net zero,” said Emilio Corti, Business Director Americas at BOBST. “Both PrimeCycle and FibreCycle have important parts to play in improving the sustainability of your printing, and alongside our VISION CI Flexo press, this exhibit will show why BOBST is at the forefront of offering leading perfor- mance in the modern packaging industry.” APC Opens New ‘Center Of Excellence’ In Cedar City, Utah Columbus, Wisconsin based American Packaging Cor- poration announced the grand opening of its new 275,000-square-foot Center of Excellence manufacturing facility in Cedar City, Utah. Several dignitaries and community leaders gathered alongside APC officials to partake in the celebration and officially welcome APC to the Cedar City community last week. The $100 million facility marks APC's sixth Center of Excellence in the U.S. and its first on the west coast. “This is an exciting day for us at American Packaging Corporation and marks an important milestone in our com- pany's history,” said Peter Schottland, CEO and co-chair- man of the board of American Packaging Corporation. “APC Cedar City is our sixth Center of Excellence across the country, and we couldn't be in a better community cel- ebrating this expansion. Our Cedar City facility is expected to bring over a hundred new jobs to the area and we're heavily focused on partnerships and strong working re- lationships to ensure a fruitful addition to the Cedar City economy.” As part of the project's first phase of its expansion in Utah, APC has hired 35 new team members and expects that number to build to 75 employees by the end of 2023. APC employs more than 1,200 professionals, including sales reps and field technical support.
