MOVERS AND SHAKERS OF THE BICSI ICT CERTIFICATION INSTITUTE Announcing Certification Committee Changes
The BICSI ICT Certification Institute is the premier credentialing organization for the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, setting the standard for excellence and expertise. We are grateful to the many volunteers of this institute for their continuous guidance of this essential ICT resource and would like to acknowledge the following individuals:
Heather Callaway, RCDD, of APG, steps into the role of Vice Chair of the Registrations and Credentials Supervision Committee (RCSC). With four years as a voting committee member and the Chair of the Registered Telecommunications Project Manager ® (RTPM ® ) Workgroup, Heather fills the vacancy left by Russell Oliver. Russell Oliver, RCDD, DCDC, ESS, NTS, RTPM, one of the founding members of the RCSC and a BICSI Past President, has been volunteering since 1989. Russ has dedicated more than 34 years to advancing the ICT profession. Russ remains on the committee as an active contributing voting member. Adam Haskin, RCDD, of AmpThink, takes on the role of Chair of the RTPM Workgroup. Adam joined the RCSC in 2019 as a voting member. He also serves as a member of the RCSC Membership team. John Bakowski, RCDD, NTS, OSP, WD, steps down from the RCSC after 30-plus years of service. He most recently served as Vice Chair of the Outside Plant Designer (OSP) Workgroup and Chair of the RCSC Membership team. John says, “I have never regretted joining this esteemed group so dedicated to their industry.”
He says to the committee, “you have challenges ahead, but you have an opportunity like no other to make your mark on the ICT world; have fun while you’re at it!” Robert Erickson, RCDD, OSP, RTPM, steps down from the RCSC after 28 years of service, with his most recent position as Secretary of the OSP Workgroup. Bob says, “BICSI has been extremely rewarding. I have met many interesting people, made many friends, shared knowledge with many individuals, and contributed to the organization since 1995. It’s been my privilege to have served on this committee with its dedicated, knowledgeable, and hardworking volunteers and staff (past and present).” “I can’t begin to say ‘thanks’ enough to both John and Bob for all their dedication, hard work, and commitment to the RCSC, BICSI, and our credentialed members. Between the two of them, they have over 60 years of institutional knowledge that is irreplaceable.
