There’s a new walk-in clinic in Rockland, giving residents a chance to seek heal- thcare services in their own community. Opening its doors in mid-February, the new walk-in clinic is located inside the Pharma- save pharmacy on Cumberland Street and offers services to community members three UJNFTBXFFLPO8FEOFTEBZT 5IVSTEBZT and Fridays. Samy Gorban, the owner of the pharmacy, has recruited three doctors who will be wor- king at the clinic. “There is a need for something like this, and the demand is there,” said Gorban. “This is an option for people in our community to get healthcare services they need.” Dr. Luc Clement has been practicing medicine for over three decades and was semi-retired. He decided to jump back in for an opportunity to work and provide health- care services for people in the community he calls home. But it wasn’t without some gently nudging from Gorban, who presented the opportunity to Dr. Clement to join his walk-in clinic. The two men have known each other for quite some time. “This is the community I have called home, and for me, it’s a way of giving back,”

Le financement soutiendra également la formation d’une équipe de conseillers résidentiels et de travailleurs de proximité, les dotant des connaissances et des outils les plus récents pour fournir un soutien. Le programme a été lancé pour la pre- mière fois en novembre 2020 en réponse aux besoins de la communauté pendant la pandémie, lorsque les victimes étaient confinées et éloignées de la société, une situation dans laquelle elles étaient encore plus vulnérables. Pour utiliser ce service, les personnes peuvent se rendre sur le site www.pasbienpr. ca afin d’ouvrir une session de chat sécuri- sée avec un employé qualifié du MIH. Les Comtés unis de Prescott et Russell (CUPR) ont remis 5 000 $ à la Maison Interlude House (MIH) pour son pro- gramme de soutien en ligne Pas Bien Chez Moi Prescott-Russell par texto et en ligne. Le 28 février, la MIH a demandé des fonds au conseil municipal de palier supérieur pour soutenir ses activités courantes et étendre le programme « Pas bien chez moi Prescott- Russell », qui offre une ligne de vie aux femmes victimes de violence conjugale de façon sécuritaire et discrète. La plateforme de texte et de chat en ligne permet aux victimes de violence domestique d’entrer en contact avec un employé du MIH. « C’est un autre excellent programme pour aider la communauté », a déclaré Pierre Leroux, directeur des CUPR. Grâce au soutien financier des CUPR, le programme continuera à fonctionner 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7, afin de s’assurer que les personnes dans le besoin ont accès à un soutien émotionnel, à des conseils et à une orientation à tout moment.
