SUCCESS from page 13 ing to concentrate on? Why, the Bible, the Word of God, of course. This is the Christian’s guide. Peter must have had this point in blind when he penned his prescription, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby” (1 Pet. 2:2). You can easily and accurately test just where you are, and where you stand in the Christian life, upon this point. Just what place in jrour mind and heart and life does the Word of God hold? You say, you believe the Book; but •tell me, do you believe in it? You say> you love the Bible from cover to cover; but do you learn from that which is written within the covers? We are to study the Word which is “ profitable for doctrine, for re proof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Tim. 3:16, 17). That is what the Lord meant when He said, Search the Scriptures (John 5:39)! We need to soak our selves into the Word to become “ strong in the Lord” (Eph. 6:10), to be able to “ stand against the wiles of the devil” (Eph. 6:11), and also to know how to give “meat in due season” (Matt. 24:45), the right word from God’s Word to the right per son at the right time. It’s a great thing when we can come to that place of really being able to say with Jeremiah of old, “Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name” (Jer. 15:16), and blueprint our life according to “ or der my steps in thy word” (Psalm 119:133). Communion . . . Be Seeking "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17) Some Christians pray with ceasing, others cease without praying, and only show what failures they really are. Success comes in heeding the command, “ Pray without ceasing” . This goes close together with our last point. The perusal of the Word of the Lord links together with pray ing unto the Lord of the Word. It was so for the early Christians, as they testified, “We will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the min istry of the word” (Acts 6:4). Prayer links us directly with our headquarters in heaven, right to the very throne of grace1-(Heb. 4:16). W e- need to keep the lines clear and free, to receive our orders from Him, and to send our requests to Him. Remem ber how Paul compares the Christian with a soldier (2 Tim. 2:3), that he might “ war a good warfare” (1 Tim. 1:18)? Well, the Christian is cer tainly in the front lines these days
