L’OREC a développé le projet avec le sou- tien de GP Joule, qui l’a construit. L’OREC est une partie intégrante de l’installation ainsi que tous les investisseurs locaux qui ont investi chacun 2500 $ pour les bénéfices futurs du projet Alfred et des autres dévelop- pements actuels et futurs d’énergie solaire de l’OREC. Les fonctionnaires de l’OREC espèrent offrir plus d’occasions d’investis- sement communautaire aux municipalités des CUPR à l’avenir. Le projet d’Alfred générera 890 000 kilo- watts-heure d’électricité chaque année, au cours des 20 prochaines années, pour le réseau électrique provincial. Cela équivaut à une énergie continue suffisante pour ali- menter 100 maisons. Le lancement officiel du projet est le 1 er octobre, de 10 h à 14 h, au 66, rue DuMoulin à Alfred.
La porte sera ouverte et le tapis de bienve- nue sera en place ce dimanche, pour les résidents du canton d’Alfred-Plantagenet qui désirent visiter le plus récent projet d’énergie solaire installé dans leur muni- cipalité. La Coopérative d’énergie renouvelable d’Ottawa (OREC) et GP Joule invitent tous les intéressés au lancement officiel du der- nier projet d’énergie solaire appartenant à l’OREC, le 1 er octobre. L’installation de 500 kW, située au cœur du village d’Alfred dans le canton d’Alfred-Plantagenet, est la première installation d’énergie solaire appartenant à la collectivité dans les Comtés unis de Prescott et Russell (CUPR). Les autres projets sont des projets du secteur privé.
