PURPOSE What we will do to get there

The Purpose of the Metro Atlanta Land Bank is to:

ACQUIRE Title to Tax Delinquent, Vacant, Abandoned, Dilapidated and Other Properties which it will in turn inventory, classify, manage, maintain, protect, rent, lease, repair, insure, alter, sell, trade, exchange or otherwise dispose of under such terms and conditions.

EXTINGUISH Past Due Tax Liens Held by Fulton County, City of Atlanta and other municipal partners to facilitate the return to productive use.

RETURN Non-revenue Generating, Non-tax Producing Property to an Eective Utilization Status in order to support the creation of market and aordable housing, public space, new industry and jobs for the citizens of the member cities and the County.

Selling fee simple properties with primary focus on aordable housing product

Completed surplus property project with Atlanta Public Schools (APS)

Use Atlanta Public Schools (APS) program + Star-C Model as SOP for new partners

AFFORDABILITY PARTNERS

Partnering with more community land trusts for permanent aordability or those organizations willing to do long term (30+ years) aordability

Partnering with ALT, AH, and IA to provide aordable housing opportunities in the community.

Accelerate program with vetted land trust(s)

Launched MALB Land Trust and supportive program

EQUITY

Expanding the Permanent Aordability Program beyond the pilot + with additional partners

Equitable opportunities for people who come from lower incomes to be able to purchase homes and start the work to change their tax bracket/economic status
