Always follow site specific site rules when operating on customer sites. Some sites will have specific rules and drivers require a site- specific induction i.e. construction sites.
• Keep a minimum distance of 1 vehicle width from other vehicles on stable ground (1.5 times the height of the vehicle for unstable ground) • Tip on level ground • Follow site rules and speed limits. • Wear PPE including high visibility clothing, hard hat, task specific gloves as a minimum when at disposal points. • Do not shunt to move or eject waste - lower body and repeat procedure or seek assistance. • Never walk under an unpropped body • Skips - Before commencing tipping ensure that on skip vehicles the tipping hook is engaged on the container tipping hooks (see false engagement of tipping hooks). • Roro containers - ensure that the door is safely secured open before tipping. • Roro Containers - Make sure that the bin clamps are locked on to the bin. • Roro containers – when opening the door always push the door away from you and then walk around the vehicle front. • Roro Containers/Skip Compactors – Stand clear of the door lever arch when opening. • Secure the door open with the securing bar before tipping. • Avoid walking past the rear as waste can fall out.
