• Lift the container slightly off the ground (a few inches) and pull forward, carefully moving the container away from the compaction unit. • Lower the container back to the ground in a safe area.
6. Sheet the Compactor Unit
• Cover the compactor unit using the manual sheet at ground level. • Use pallet wrap or other securing material if needed to seal edges and prevent waste from escaping.
7. Secure the Load
• Once the unit is properly sheeted and secured, proceed to load the container onto the vehicle. • Follow previously established guidance for loading and tipping operations.
8. Replacing the Empty Container
• Align the vehicle with the compactor base to ensure proper positioning. • Lower the empty container back into place carefully.
9. Final Securement
• Verify the container is properly aligned and securely connected to the compactor. • Lock the clamps back onto the container to ensure stability.
By following these steps, you can safely and efficiently handle static compactor containers while minimizing the risk of accidents or spillage.
Portable compactors combine waste containment and compaction equipment in a single unit. These units are transported to disposal facilities and then returned to their original location. The following procedure ensures safe handling and operation:
1. Pre-Collection Checks
• Ensure all container doors are securely closed and cannot open during transport.
2. Isolate Electrical Supply
• Switch off the main electrical supply using the On/Off switch. • Unplug the container, ensuring the cable is left tidy and on-site to avoid creating a trip hazard.
