3. Secure and Lift
• Confirm the unit is secured. • Follow standard loading guidelines to lift and position the compactor safely onto the vehicle. 4. Returning the Compactor
• Reposition the compactor in its original location. • Reconnect the electrical cable to the compactor unit. • Turn the electrical supply back on using the main switch.
Important Safety Notes (Compactors):
• Drivers must not enter the compaction unit at any time. • Report any defects or irregularities with the unit immediately to the appropriate supervisor and or customer.
This process ensures the portable compactor is handled and operated safely and efficiently, minimizing risks during transport and use.
Unloading
1. Position in line with area to be unloaded 2. Check area prior to operation. No person should be on/in contact with the vehicle or in the immediate area during operation. 3. Ensure the hook is properly engaged in the lifting eye. 4. Lift up/out away from the back of the vehicle and into position. This needs to happen in a slow and controlled manner avoiding any damaged to property from dragging bin along the ground.
Tipping
Prior to tipping the bungie cord should be removed using the sheeting pole and then the sheeting system should be retracted fully and stowed in the correct position. No tipping operation will happen within 10 metres of any other vehicle or person. Tipping controls are only to be operated by the driver of the vehicle. 1. Position the vehicle accordingly - never tip uphill (unless on a purpose-built ramp), or on/across a slope, ensure the wheels are straight and the parking brake is applied. On site be guided into position by reversing assistant if one is provided.
