Housing Choices Annual Report 2016-17

Projects In The Pipeline

The Victorian Property Grant Developments Housing Choices has been awarded a $4.9 million grant from the Victorian Property Fund (VPF) to provide much-needed, additional low-income housing in Dandenong and Williamstown. The VPF is administered by Consumer Affairs Victoria with funds from the license fees of estate agents and conveyancers, together with the interest that is paid on their trust accounts. We will use the grant to rebuild and expand accommodation opportunities at two properties that we own, both of which are close to shops, school and public transport. One property will be transformed into a five-storey, architect-designed apartment building, thereby increasing the capacity of the site from 7 to 19 dwellings. The other will become five new architect-designed apartments. Project Highlights: • Investment of $5.2 million by Housing Choices • Investment of $4.9 million by the Victorian Property Fund • Total Project Investment of $10.1 million • Scheduled commencement - March 2018 • Estimated completion - April 2019 • Affordable housing, including several for people with mobility issues • Architect-designed homes with high-level finish • Significant additional housing in a major Melbourne growth corridor.
