The Off ice for MADD CT and MADD New England recently relocated to 339 Hemingway Avenue 2nd Floor ( Wel ls Fargo Bank Bui lding ) East Haven , CT . The move was made necessary due to our former home on Foxon Rd being sold and transitioned to Medical Off ices . Our new off ices strategical ly place us within a block of the center of East Haven and wi l l afford us a high level of visibi l ity to passersby . In the very near future a sign wi l l be erected identi fying this location to the new neighborhood . FUNDRA I S ERS Have you ever considered creating and organizing a fundraiser for Mothers Against Drunk Driving ? Fundraisers help us make a di fference , sustain programs – Free to the Publ ic – and continue our mission to work to Save Lives and end the violent crime of Drinking and Driving ! No More Victims . In 2020 , in spite , of the pandemic , less cars on the roadways – drunk / drugged related crashes increased . Organizing a Fundraiser , no matter how large or smal l wi l l go a long way in helping us f ight the good f ight so that one day there wi l l be NO MORE VICTIMS ! YOUTH I N OUR COMMUN I T Y

The CT Youth Department is gear ing up for prom and graduation season , educating parents and thei r teens about the dangers of underage dr inking and how to start having those important conversations . This is a great time of year to talk to your graduating seniors about underage dr inking before they go off to col lege . When parents read and use our

handbooks , that can be found at powerofparents . com , there is a 30 %

reduction in underage dr inking in those students . So head over to our website and start talking now and often to support our mission of # NoMoreVictims . And don ’ t forget our Power of Parents and Power of You ( th ) programs are avai lable now vi rtual ly throughout New England al l year long !

MADD Massachusetts is honored to announce the winners of thei r 2021 Law Enforcement Hero Awards . Congratulations to Off icer Jacob Laughl in of Hadley Pol ice Department , Off ice Thomas Giordano of Sturbr idge Pol ice Department , Off icer Bryan LoBianco of Hingham Pol ice Department , and Off icer Kyle McElroy of Duxbury Pol ice Department for being awarded as Outstanding OUI Off icers . These off icers were nominated by thei r chiefs as they have excel led in many areas including OUI arrests , drugged dr iving , traff ic safety , OUI victim services , underage dr inking , and work ethic . It is important to recognize and commend these off icers ’ commitment to taking impai red dr ivers off our roadways . On behal f of our victims and survivors , we thank them from the bottom of our hearts . This often - thankless job does not go unnoticed by those at MADD who understand the dangers and hard work that goes into these arrests . In l ieu of a large breakfast ceremony event this year , we wi l l be awarding winners at thei r individual departments in a pr ivate presentation . On Saturday , June 5th , we held our f i rst in - person Walk Like MADD event of 2021 at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum at Foxwoods . On this beauti ful summer day , over 40 participants and volunteers came together to honor Wayne Lecardo , a former Foxwoods employee , who was senselessly ki l led by an underage drunk dr iver . A special thank you to our sponsors , Fundacion Mapfre , Uber , Wayne ' s Walk Foundation , and WCTY for helping to make this event a success !
