Entre the state of Arizona, view huge concrete tepees that stand at the foot of brilliant red-rock mesas en route to Petrified Forest National Park. Here you will come face-to-face with over 13,000 years of human history. Day 11: Holbrook - Grand Canyon/Williams Continue to Meteor City, a true vintage trading post whose distinctive dome can be seen for miles along this stretch of Route 66. Pass through Flagstaff and Williams en route to Grand Canyon National Park, a stunning natural wonder. Spend the day discovering the distinctive South Rim of the Canyon. Day 12: Grand Canyon/Williams - Las Vegas Leaving the town of Williams and the Grand Canyon behind, today you will make your way to Seligman. Continue through Kingman and to one of Arizona’s hidden treasures - the Hoover Dam. Continue on to the dazzling lights of the city of Las Vegas. Day 13-14: Las Vegas - Santa Monica - LA Enjoy a full day in Las Vegas! Head through the Mojave Desert to Calico Ghost Town. Continue through to Santa Monica and travel the last few blocks to the ‘End of the Trail’ sign on Santa Monica’s Pier. Day 15-16 : Fly from Los Angeles to the UK Today is yours to spend as you wish, perhaps visit Universal Studios Hollywood. The next day return your rental car at Los Angeles International Airport before your flight back to the UK.

Day 1-2: Fly from the UK to Chicago Upon arrival at Chicago International Airport, you will collect your hire car and drive to your hotel for a two- night stay. Day 3: Chicago - St. Louis This legendary old road passes through a variety of pure Americana landscapes and takes in some of the country’s oldest sites. Explore the legacy of Abraham Lincoln with a visit to the Lincoln Home National Historic Site. Day 4: St. Louis - Springfield Continue through southern Missouri to Springfield, recognized as the birthplace of Route 66. En route, stop at Meramec Caverns, an extensive set of natural limestone caves. Day 5: Springfield - Tulsa - Oklahoma City Cut through the south-eastern corner of Kansas on your way to Oklahoma City. En route, stop to view the beloved 20-foot tall cement Blue Whale in Catoosa. Day 6: Oklahoma City - Amarillo Continue to Amarillo, located in the pancake-flat plains of the Texas Panhandle. Once in Amarillo, be sure to stop at Big Texas Steak Ranch, where, if you’re hungry, you can attempt their 72oz steak challenge.
