Men’s Reading Club The Desert Horizons Men’s Reading Group meets the second Tuesday of each month, November through April, 2024-2025 from 3 to 4:30 in the club’s cardroom. No reservations are needed; just show up if you wish to participate — even if you have not read the book to be discussed for that month. Water is provided by the club. Cards and Games Whether you’re a serious player or just looking to meet new friends for a casual game, there are many opportunities each week for cards and games like gin, duplicate bridge, backgammon, bunco, mahjong, hand & foot, and bingo.
Trivia Trivia is wildly popular here and the competition is fierce! Captains are assigned to teams, each donned in their team shirts. Teams play from January 9 through April 10 in the Clubhouse. The Trivia Finals are scheduled for April 10, 2024 and the 1st place winning team gets their team’s name displayed on a trophy in the Clubhouse. A special Trivia menu is available.
Great Decisions Group Groups across the U.S. meet eight times per year to discuss topics which are selected each year by the Foreign Policy Association, a nonpartisan, non-profit group from Washington, D.C. Watch a video on the month’s topic followed by discussion. Meetings will resume on Friday, October 25, at 3:00 p.m. for a discussion of “Invisible Indonesia.” Further meetings to cover the final 2024 topics will be held on November 8, November 22, and December 13. All are welcome to attend. We will resume with new topics for 2025 in January. If you have questions, contact Cornelia Gould at cornelia.gould@gmail.com . Bocce Join the Bocce Breve Tournament in November and the Prime Season Tourna - ment in January and February. Bocce Socials are scheduled once a month on Sundays, from November to March. Non-hosted cocktails and a small bites menu are available at the bar.
