WELCOME to the 2024-2025 SEASON!
Dear Desert Horizon Members, Your Desert Horizons’ Team would like to welcome you back to a new, exciting 2024-2025 season. We trust you had wonderful summer full of great memories and you’re ready to make new ones as we start the Fall/Winter season! We’ve got a wonderful line up of great events, programs, and activities along with amazing food and opportunities for you to get together with family and friends. You won’t want to miss the season kick off with a Tailgate Party theme at the Season Opening Party on November 8th and the Golf Opening Day/Vendor Expo on November 9th. Save the dates and make your plans to be here! With one season behind us in the newly renovated clubhouse, you’ll enjoy some of your favorite activities again like Trivia and the Bocce League. This year we’re introducing Bingo Nights too! We’re happy to be hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet, a Holiday Dinner in December and a New Year’s Ball too! Dining events will include Fried Chicken Nights, Prime Rib Dinners, a Cigar Dinner, a Seafood Extravaganza and of course, Winemakers Dinners. Celebrate other holidays in your beautiful clubhouse: Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day. The Pickleball Championship will return along with social events like Dink ‘til You Drink. The Bocce League will host a Bocce Breve Tournament in November and a Prime Season Tournament in January and February. Other activities for socializing include card games, backgammon, water volleyball, water aerobics, the Men’s Book Club and the Great Decisions Group. And for you ladies, enjoy all the fun activities that the Desert Horizons Women’s Club sponsors. Fitness buffs have so much to choose from: Yoga, TRX, Pilates, Spin Classes, Circuit Training, and the list goes on! In the state-of-the-art 8,380 sq. ft. gym upstairs enjoy the spectacular views while you work out. Looking to boost your wellness? Check into the Wellness Center that offers massages, facials, body treatments and other services. This Golf Season promises to be one of the best with weekly golf events, men’s tournaments like the President’s Cup in January, the Ted Robinson Classic in February, the Men’s Shootout Invitational in March and the culmination of the season with the Men’s Club Championship. Ladies, you’ll have fun competing in the President’s Cup in February and the Classic in March, the biggest golf event of the year! Finally, if you haven’t had a chance to experience the new clubhouse and the courts facilities, now’s the time! The Clubhouse will welcome you into a “desert modern cool” ambience with spacious indoor and outdoor lounge seating, a beautiful see-through fireplace, incredible views that will bring the outdoors in, new meeting spaces for group, club and private events, and exciting dining experiences. The Pro Shop was also completely renovated and new items have arrived for the start of the season. Play your best game at the brand-new Courts Complex day or night. Spectators are invited to sit at the patio seating overlooking the courts or relax in the Pavilion. We added a total of 17,850 square feet to the clubhouse. Of that, 9,470 square feet was to enclose the old lounge patio for the Event Room and Private Dining Room. The second floor fitness facility added another 8,380 square feet. With this additional space and all the upgrades, Desert Horizons has been restored to a desirable, boutique private club with a welcoming neighborhood spirit, that embraces active lifestyles. The 2024-2025 Event Guide and Calendar offers an endless collection of events, activities, social clubs, and the seasonal calendar from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025. Use the Event Guide as your one-stop shop to learn about the countless golf, lifestyle and recreational options that await you. Get the most of your community by partic - ipating in a wide variety of events and activities and try out new ones. This is also the best way to meet other Members who become life-long friends, making life here at Desert Horizons more enjoyable! Spend some time exploring this new guide and select some of the activities and events you’d like to attend.
